Northwest Tool & Machine is a precision machining and custom toolmaking company supplying multiple industries across Michigan and the United States. Our diverse Customer base includes the automotive, consumer products, food processing machinery, gas & oil, hydraulics, metal working, packaging of food & beverage, railway, transportation and general industries. The company has been family-owned and operated since 1984 and specializes in tight-tolerance build to print and build to model machine details, fixture details, gage details and components. In addition to high accuracy machine details, the company supplies custom tooling and details to the metal stamping, blow molding, die cast molding, injection molding, and vacuum forming industries.

Northwest Tool is a leader in job shop work such as precision I.D., O.D., flat and jig grinding; Wire EDM; CNC milling and turning; large and small detail work; boring mill work; design and build and build to print jobs; work-holding fixtures, gages, and small special machines; automation; prototype to production tooling; and general machine and repair work.

Apprenticeship Training

History

The company was founded in 1984 by the Pickett family of Jackson, Michigan. After establishment, the company operated out of two Jackson locations before permanently residing at 1014 Hurst Road in Blackman Township. Following a 10,000 square foot expansion in 1999, the company now has 20,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and office space for its operations. The company continues to be owned and operated by first, second and third generation Pickett family members. The company currently employs 30 highly skilled people, and maintains a registered Toolmaker apprenticeship program.
